Bl. Anna Maria Taigi was born on May 29, 1769, in Siena, Italy, to a poor family. From a young age, she felt a deep spiritual calling, and her devotion to God was evident. She married Domenico Taigi in 1790, and they had seven children together. Despite the difficulties of managing a household and raising a family, Anna Maria always found time for prayer and service to others.

Her holiness and deep faith became widely known, and she gained a reputation for her spiritual gifts, which included prophecies, visions, and the ability to discern the hearts of others. Anna Maria lived an intensely mystical life, often experiencing visions of saints, angels, and even the Holy Family. She would often spend hours in prayer, not only for her own sanctification but for the needs of others, particularly the poor and the suffering.

Her life was one of simplicity, humility, and service. She often gave away the little money her family had to help those in need. She also devoted herself to the spiritual well-being of her husband and children, acting as a guiding force in their faith. Bl. Anna Maria's mystical experiences were carefully recorded and later published, confirming her sainthood. She was known to have made accurate prophecies, some of which came true after her death. She passed away on June 9, 1837, at the age of 68, and was beatified by Pope Benedict XV in 1920.
