His feast day is celebrated on May 16 each year, and he is the patron saint of confessors and bridges, as his death is closely associated with the Vltava River, where a bridge spans over it in Prague.

Artistic representations of Saint John Nepomucene often depict him with a halo of five stars, symbolizing the five wounds of Christ, reflecting his martyrdom.
