ST. MICHEL DE SANCTIS

St. Michel de Sanctis was a devoted Italian priest and Discalced Trinitarian known for his deep spirituality, humble life, and miraculous works.

St. Michel de Sanctis, born Michael de Sanctis in Catalonia, Spain, entered religious life at an early age, inspired by the lives of saints and a fervent desire to live a life fully committed to Christ. He joined the Trinitarian Order at the age of 12, later transferring to the Discalced Trinitarians to embrace an even more austere and contemplative lifestyle.

Known for his intense devotion to the Holy Eucharist, St. Michel was often seen in a state of ecstasy during Mass. He practiced rigorous fasting and penance, seeking to unite himself fully with the sufferings of Christ. His holiness attracted many people, and his intercessory prayers were sought by both the faithful and his fellow religious.

Despite his young age at death, his short life left a profound impact on those around him. His reputation for sanctity endured after his death, with numerous miracles attributed to his intercession. He was beatified in 1779 and canonized in 1839.
