After King Edwin's conversion to Christianity in 627, St. Edwen is thought to have grown up in the court of King Cadfan of North Wales. In 640, she founded a church in Llanedwen, Anglesey, Wales, which is now known as St Edwen's Church.

The current St Edwen's Church, located in Llanedwen, was rebuilt in 1856 by architect Henry Kennedy. It is a Grade II listed building, recognized for its architectural significance and historical value. The church is situated on land that forms part of the Plas Newydd estate, home to the family of the Marquess of Anglesey since 1812.

St. Edwen's feast day is celebrated on November 6. This day is observed by Christians who honor her contributions to the faith and her role in the Christianization of early Anglo-Saxon England. Her legacy continues to be remembered through the church she founded and the traditions associated with her feast day.
