Saint Simon of Cyrene carried the cross of Jesus on the way to Calvary. His act of compassion and strength is remembered as a powerful witness of love and service.

Simon of Cyrene was a man from the region of Cyrene in North Africa. His life became part of salvation history when he was pulled from the crowd by Roman soldiers and commanded to carry the cross of Jesus Christ during the journey to Golgotha.
